Accident, Maryland[^] What other odd place names have you guys (and gals) seen? List on wiki[^]

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question? The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism. Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

USA seems to be the home a odd names. Hell,_Michigan[^] Intercourse,_Pennsylvania[^] And I'm sure there plenty of others.. Locally we we have Eureka Waikato NZ and Near Porangahau in Hawke’s Bay is an unassuming hill known as "Taumata whakatangi hangakoauau o tamatea turi pukakapiki maunga horo nuku pokai whenua kitanatahu", which translates into English as "the place where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, who slid, climbed and swallowed mountains, known as 'landeater’, played his flute to his loved one." Locals simply call it Taumata Hill.

Newfoundland. Everywhere there (or at least enough that it's their main advertising campaign): Happy Valley, Heart's Desire, Come By Chance, Mistaken Point, Jerrys Nose (no apostrophe), and of course, Dildo. And many others I'm probably forgetting. Oh, not Newfoundland, but there is a Climax, Saskatchewan[^].

Not just places. Person names are even worse. I got very intrigued when I realized there existed people with the surnames Knoblauch and Rindfleich, which translates to Garlic and Beef respectively. And there really exists people with the surnames Titte, Fickbaum, Feuchtenbeiner, Muschi, Breitscheid or Luderfinger. (use a translation program, it probably just turns into a load of stars if I write it out) But it doesn't stop there, some parents are really mean. If your surname is Schweiss, a fairly common surname, you don't name your kid Axel. (Arm pit sweat)

Axel Schweiss LOL  I used to work with a Knoblauch in Denmark several decades ago... Luckily he didn't smell of garlic... ;) I could wish for a female colleague named Titte or Feuchtenbeiner (are you serious, is somebody actually called that?) - just think of the fun you could have with that... In Denmark, as well as Sweden, Pitt is a slang word for penis, and Stiv means "stiff", so I have a long standing joke (no pun intended) about Brad Pitt having an unknown brother called Steve. Normally, it takes people a short while to connect Steve with Pitt and realise what it could also mean. But then they normally break out laughing...

Leveland, Texas- one of if not the flattest place I have ever been. Truth or Consequences, New Mexico - was originally Hot Springs but changed it's name to that of the TV program. Opp, Alabama

I knew a guy whose given name was Charles. He went by "Chuck". His older brother, Robert, went by "Bob". Last name? Bobinchuck.
