ditto, everywhere i go it's war this war that, can't even have lunch at work in peace without one of the zombies here bringing up the war. What is really annoying is people's need to tell me their (unasked for) opinion on the war... I couldn't care less what your opinion is!

Seems like there's always a war going on. War against Iraq/Saddam War on "terra" (sic) War on Drugs War on Poverty - whatever happened to that? Not to mention those nazis ... errr ... principled people at the Business Software Alliance declaring war on innocent copyrite infingers (go take it to China)! I'm seriously thinking of declaring war on the rabbits that are ruining my back garden - maybe I can get a little of that $74 billion ... hmmm.

I haven't been paying attention to the war so much, but it has caused me to take a better look at what is going in the world. Big changes. I started reading Does America Need a Foreign Policy?[^] by Henry Kissinger. It's a stupid title, as it doesn't debate the question, but rather outlines historical and current global issues related to the US. Should be interesting. You're right though, the constant information overload is draining. NPR is about as objective as BBC. I just heard an interview with a BBC correspondent where it was stated that BBC was slanting the news to fit their own liberal agenda - which shocked me because I have always held the opinion that the BBC always went the extra mile , even absurdedly so , to be impartial. NPR lost all of mt respect when they were caught selling their donor list, of which I was one , to the Denmocratic Party for fund raising purposes.Locally their fundraising has dropped about 40 % over the last two years because of that little snafu. Richard In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. The BBC has come under fire in alternating periods for both a liberal and then a conservative bias. Since Auntie Beeb gets it's money from the government, there have always been debates about the degree to which it was truely impartial. On the whole, the BBC does a great job of providing balanced journalism - but there is always the issue of the key appointees at the top of the food chain and to what extent they are merely the lap dogs of their political masters. Also, many Americans would actually consider some of the left-leaning conservatives in the UK to be "liberal" - given that the political cultures are really very different. Clinton would hardly be classified as a liberal in the UK. As such, it's awkward to say that the BBC has an overtly liberal bias.

I stopped to be as news addict as before when this war began. Too much noise, too many mediatic operations, too many manipulations whatever the side. With this restriction, war time is more "bearable" (if I can say that, living in comfort and in a peaceful place :|), but it doesn't change I wish it will end the sooner possible.
