BEWARE: Facebook link ahead, you've been warned. Well, here's Nika, my new cat![^] :D It should be visible to everyone :)

I am so happy for Nika to find a better home. I really hope your curtains don't fall easily :) You made really good choice of adopting a cat from a shelter and not buying one. You made my day. About her shyness. Don't worry in no time she will be the tiny, cute, furry ruler of your home:)

I might still try one of those Feliways then! :)

That's PVC, pretty strong stuff! I actually ordered a scratching post, and it's supposed to be delivered, but it isn't. So I'll have a call about that today...

Feliway works on some cats but the real power of it is relaxing the human through the power a placebo. If you think it is working, then you are more calm and relaxed, the cat can read your behavior and will be more calm and relaxed. Not saying it is total voodoo, just not magical either. Ref: The wife was a vet-tech for a number of years. If you can keep the human calm, it rubs off on the cat. Also, if you just picked her up, give her some time to get comfortable in her surroundings. She will have to make the space hers, claim some territory and so on. One of our boys was a rescue, came from a hoarder situation and is still skittish after a few years. He is doing better but has days where he will run for cover when a big truck rolls past the house. The same truck that rolled past the day before and he sat at the window watching it.

I misread the third word of that name... :-O
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

I am a proud member of the CCC (not the crossword, but the Comité Contre les Chats = the group against cats). Cats are evil. Don't trust them. :)
So what? I'm evil as well.
The language is JavaScript. that of Mordor, which I will not utter here
This is Javascript. If you put big wheels and a racing stripe on a golf cart, it's still a fucking golf cart.

She was still expensive enough! I could've gotten kittens for free. Of course Nika is sterilized, vaccinated and all that, so it's worth it :)

What, were you afraid the internet at large wouldn't be able to handle one more cat picture?
There's always the drop that spills the bucket. I'd hate to be that drop :) I know some people here really hate Facebook, so... ;)

Apparently (according to other threads) some people hate cats even more.
Yeah, but only the stupid people ;p

Thought about that. But I already uploaded them to Facebook anyway :)
