    Well that is the difference. Here, you signup for the abuse and should it prove too much you can choose to leave. With this new 'service' your profile is created by anyone entering a review of you and you will not have the right to remove either the content or your profile. It hasn't launched and I can already hear the lawyers drinking their fees in month long binges!

    Yeah, I know - but it'll get stamped on pretty hard as soon as "someone important" gets reviewed badly. Obama, or Nicolas Cage for example.

      Must be, how else could peeple[probably TM][^] have ever seen the light of day? I can see it now, create a 'review' of someone, let us say 'Dave from Luton' and rate him low with the comment that he's a fascist loony out for personal gain and when he disputes it you have the poor guy over a proverbial barrel. Lawsuits? Nah, everyone will be sooooo nice.

          That was my first thought as well. Not sure I would want to give these airheads (I have other descriptors for them as well, but in contrast to them I am mindful about what I put out there) the attention though.

              The big deal here is, I would suspect, is that they collect your info and don't remove it (such as phone number). And they do so without your own consent. Sure, the NSA does it, but that's because we have no real say-so over that.

                Hm. The white pages have always done that and as far as I know, I never gave my consent. Perhaps it is inherent in requesting a phone number that you give your consent for some things.
