https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/comic-riffs/wp/2015/10/18/first-look-star-wars-the-force-awakens-poster-lands-heralding-mondays-ticket-kickoff/[^] There are some fans who think Luke's going to be Kylo Ren, although a stronger theory is that Ren's Palpatine's grandson brought up by droids. Dramatically it'll be super impactful for Luke to be revealed as Kylo Ren, but it kinda messes up the story line. Vader could not bring him to the dark side, and 20 years later if he goes to the dark side, the previous 6 movies seem sorta pointless. Thoughts?

Well it's Disney, so you have to expect a few changes. And other than Chewie being played by Donkey, and the addition of quite a few songs while the heroine Lydia Skywalker tries to cheer everybody up you won't notice too much (other than the change of setting to Far Far Away under King Shrek II)

Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

I haven't been following any of the new Star Wars news, but if I had to guess I'd say he's the rebel with the helmet next to Han.

I like Star Wars but have never got into the trivia or speculation. With so many good and bad books being written over the years (Chewy killed, Luke married...) I really did not keep up. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the movies intertwine with the books if at all. Say a picture of Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford and Mark has had a hard life.

Serious looking Jedi with light sabres:

            check

Even more serious looking female lead:

            check

            Token droids:

            check

Frigging huge new deathstar that looks AWESOME:

            check

I think the poster is formulaic, conservative, and trying very hard to bridge the gap back to Episode 4. And I think that's exactly what it needs to be. (and did I mention how awesome the deathstar looks?)

I think these next 3 movies will be as good as the original 3 :-)

Mmmm that's so good!!' he cried, but it was all over in 3 minutes. She sighed, that was the tenth time he'd watched the Star Wars trailer. (from @50NerdsOfGrey on Twitter) :-D

That would certainly be a treat. One can only hope.
