I have two problems with this movie. First, I don't think it knows what it is. Is it a dark and broody Batman movie? Is it an all-powerful, super duper Superman movie? Is it just being made to setup the Justice League movie (Wonder Woman is in it, Aquaman is in it, and The Flash is rumored)? The first trailer made me think of the first choice, and I thought it made the movie look awful. This trailer is a combination of the three, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Second, sans kryptonite, Superman would beat Batman without breaking a sweat, so the whole premise of a prolonged battle between the two (until they unite against the greater evil, Doomsday) is a bit of a stretch.

The United States invariably does the right thing, after having exhausted every other alternative. -Winston Churchill America is the only country that went from barbarism to decadence without civilization in between. -Oscar Wilde Wow, even the French showed a little more spine than that before they got their sh*t pushed in.[^] -Colin Mullikin

Another re-hash of an old story that people keep paying money to see. Why? Very few movies have any originality now. If you've seen one, you've seen them all. No thanks. X|

This is the first non-animated Justice League movie as far as I know. :~

YouTube - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Official Trailer 2 [HD][^] Wow, I can't wait for this movie :-) Warning : possible spoiler in the last 15 seconds of that trailer. Not the kind of spoiler than makes you sad though - but the kind that gives you goose bumps.

2 heroes, one conservative socially awkward good boy and the rebel anti-social rich man battle each other for the best "american way of hero life" until evil villain dude decides to put his grain of salt and our 2 heroes join force to battle evil, with the super sexy super girl that creates the sexual tension between our 2 heroes. I assume Aquaman will be the comic relief hero; and there will also be the token black guy hero (in a support/tech role). Whatever, I will probably see it with brother in law (whose a huge justice league fan).

You just aren't watching the right movies then. There have been plenty of great movies that have come out over the past couple years that are very good original ideas. Look no further than last year's Oscar nominees for Best Picture. Half of them (American Sniper, Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, Selma) were based on true stories, but they were not true stories that had already been put into film (or in the case of Selma, not at that level of film making), and the execution of those stories was extraordinary. The other half (Birdman, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Whiplash) were all fantastic original ideas, that were all very different from one another both stylistically and in terms of what emotions they inspired. If you just sit and watch all of the big blockbusters that come out, of course they're going to be the same. The unwashed masses are stupid idiots that want to see explosions and pretty faces (I include myself as part of the unwashed masses most of the time). But if you want to see great filmmaking/writing/acting, you have to dig a little deeper than the movies that get advertised in commercials (or just wait for the Oscar nominees).

Anybody watched "The Dark Knight Returns" here? It has two episodes and is one of the coolest Batman movies in my opinion. A must watch but might be spoiler for "The Dawn of Justice".

Cos what we really need is the 90th different Superman and 3000th different Batman to veer wildly off from the comic book story arc and contradict the other 16000 films at every turn? Have we had the one where Batman invents Facebook and Superman discovers the cure for cancer yet or are they still too busy violating the human rights of unconvicted suspects after setting fire to MIRANDA? Shouldn't they both be high school girls from ethnic minorities by now anyway? Make it stop. Just make it stop!!!
