You know yourself pretty well that this fingerpointing should go into multiple directions: US, France, Germany, Russia.... (in no particular order today)

There were reports over the weekend that special forces had cut an oil pipeline that runs into Syria from Iraq, plus a railway line (!). Of course, as it was "special forces" involved, CENTCOM doesn't have to confirm or deny this. Handy.

just keep in mind that US citizens have been convicted of selling arms (made by France, among others) to Iraq. finding French arms there doesn't necessarily mean France sold them directly to Iraq. -c

I didn't say it meant France sold them, just that it looks like an obvious breach of the embargo. I'm sure we'll hear about more cases of arms getting into Iraq illegally once the war is over. I expect companies from many countries will have a reason to feel nervous... and perhaps a few governments too.

Are other news organizations reporting this? I heard a different story, on NPR, about a few rockets found at the airport that contained either a nerve agent or mustard gas. I haven't found anything else at major web sites. One would think that this would be making headlines. Jason Henderson wrote: ... and no its not a CIA plant. Since, by definition, I'm right and they're wrong, any criticism of my opinions can only reinforce my position. Your comment brought to mind the image of a small group of unpopular protesters (burning the flag, against the war, KKK, whatever) who are reveling in the insults being hurled at them by a far larger group of counter protesters.
