Western women have been doing this on dating sites for years and with far more insane reasons. The basic female predisposition is to reject all men unless there's a very good reason to accept them (well, I say good ...) whilst men will accept all women unless there's a very good reason to reject them. This explains why 80% of men on dating sites (figures courtesy of the Freakonomics guys) never receive a single message of any kind from a woman, whilst only a tiny proportion of women never receive a message form a man.

      I am not a number. I am a ... no, wait!

I have a wife-to-be from India. Thank you for pointing out a few things that I should be aware of "not to do".

Well, the guy who kissed the bride's sister takes the cake. I would assume this was a carnally intense kiss and not a peck on the cheeks! :-)

You should do an AMA on this. Pakistani men with Indian wives - that's a rarity! :)

Instead of a whole session, the thing is simple. She doesn't have problem with me being a Pakistani, and I don't say anything to her, for being an Indian. We're just two love birds. If that is understood by others, too, rarity would be found in every block. ;-)

You may want to cover your ears while I say, "Facebook". I live in Pakistan, Punjab. She lives in India, New Delhi. We haven't met ever, (may sound strange! I know), I am willing to travel to India this month, after a few days. 10 maybe, and I will meet her, for the first time. You, just can't imagine the feeling that we are having these days as I wait for visa approval call and she waits for me to come to India to meet her. I will share the moments that we will have, and oh yes, apart from CodeProject I am also going to get an MVP award from C# Corner. I think, credit for making two love birds meet, goes to them. ;) Our both families know, we are not having a typical Indopak relation, where both end up being terminated by their families.

Don't answer this if it's personal, but I would assume that either both of you are non-religious or you are both of the same religion. Can't imagine an inter-country as well as an inter-religious south Asian relationship going this smooth family-wise. :-)

No, that's fine by me, because I don't take things personal too often. The thing is, I haven't yet went to her parents to say, "I want to marry your daughter". Maybe later, not yet because she said, she wants to complete her study first and then talk about marriage, so I respect her choice of freedom. Once she completes her study, and I mine, and I find a good job. I will go and talk to her parents, because they're educated and not typical kind of family who would not understand. And, we're not of same religion.
