What a sad day . The best looking commercial plane in the world . But not only that , the news is dire for the consequences it brings , Micheal Winner will now have to travel with us prols . Am I the only one forever playing catch up with technology , while all the juicy opportunites keep rolling by ?

Good way to bump up the prices. "Be one of the last to fly the Concorde!" They should set up a bidding system for the last flight. Start at 8000 quid and the sky is the limit. Think I will climb into one of the wheel arches ;)

I've been in the nose cone - far more room than the wheel arches IMHO (if you don't mind getting fried by the radar...). I image that we will still see it flying at airshows etc but that just isn't the same as it flying over your house everyday:) "If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?" - Albert Einstein

British Airways and Air France announced today that they would be withdrawing concorde from service this summer. This is a shame (but an economic innevitability) becausse (a) it is one of the few commercial aircraft types I haven't flown in and (b)it is perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing vehicle ever created. Oh well - anyone lend me £8000 for a ticket before it's too late? '--8<------------------------ Ex Datis: Duncan Jones Merrion Computing Ltd

:( I really hoped that thing would have been viable. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.

I'm not sure it ever has been - but when BA was making mega-profits, that wasn't a problem. It is a great shame - I'd give my right arm for a flight!

He could take the camera from SA with him, or he could bring it to Ireland... ;) (David is being a grammar geek) ---

Not one of them, IMO, should be called beer. Maybe malt flavored mineral water. - Jörgen Sigvardsson on Bud, Coors and Miller

My father flew in Concorde once from the UK to the US. Unfortunately, he didn't fly back in it - he stayed a while and returned on a regular old Jumbo. When I asked him what it was like and how it felt, he said he couldn't remember because he fell asleep before they even went supersonic :omg:
