:) Yes, I think even Boris and Nigel are surprised! I don't know what your thoughts are, but I thought it was a bloody terrible campaign from both sides. Far too much bad blood, mud slinging, arguing and fear tactics. Can't we have a sensible discussion? If I went around talking to people in the office like that I would be sacked!!

It was indeed. Nothing positive from the remain side at all, just threats and scare tactics. The degree of BBC bias left a nasty taste as well: if someone pro-remain said anything it was headlined: "PM says...", "Chancellor says...", "Obama says...". The pro-leave comments got third or fourth billing.

Ohh the BBC - that hasn't been neutral for as long as I can remember! I've even gone so far as to stop watching BBC News or using the BBC Website as it's becoming so partisan on subjects it's quite embarrassing! :)

It the talking point everywhere as the stock markets have taken a hit and the GB pound has taken a hit as well. General thought in the rest of the world is U K will now go into recession and hence the market crashes. Thanks UK. It cost me money :((

However, and this is why I love being British, there's also a good deal of banter with all of our 'European' friends here in the office (which there are quite a number). Suggestions have already been made to place any non-Brits on one side of the office only accessible by passport control - good ol' British sense of humour making the most out of a bad situation! :sigh:

So nothing until this time next year. Then investigation and negotiation. Then it could be put to the people that a threat to leave has helped us negotiate and staying would be better. Possibly with another referendum. Boris doesn't actually want to get out, he just wants to be PM. If we do leave the process won't start for at least two years, and then take another two years to conclude.

Yes indeed - at least 2 years - that I knew (just couldn't be bothered to write it all down!) There is a lot of work to be done in the meantime. Maybe Europe will start to listen a bit more, maybe they'll begin appeasing other countries to halt the break up of the EU?

No, the EU countries are not considered sovereign by the EU. The states in the US are supposed to be sovereign, too, but they're not really.

I am sad about it and I am sorry about all of you that you wanted to stay. It will be a hard period, but everyone will survive it. But now... IMHO all parts must be consequent. Negotiations and blah blah... why? Getting the good parts and rejecting the stinky responsabilities... that's not fair. Out was democratically selected, OK then... really out. Do it like with plasters, short and sudden to avoid inunnecesary pain.

The process of leaving will start soon. Otherwise negotiations would not be started. Cameron must send a letter to EU soon with the fact that England leaves. It might/will take up 2 years before UK is definately out. We welcome Scotland and Northern Ireland in the EU within these 2 years :D

Now England is out of the EU we do not have to speak English anymore as default language in the European Parliament. The Germans, The French and the Polish have the best changes. And do not underestimate the Greek population.

It's been over 30 years since fish and chips (or any other food) was allowed to be wrapped solely in newspaper. If this is an example of how 'in touch' Europe is with our culture then I guess we done the right thing!
