http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=oddlyEnoughNews&storyID=2558193[^] A professional wrestler ["The Great Sasuke"] who fought his way to victory in local assembly elections under his ring name and wearing his trademark mask has vowed the mask will not leave his face even after he enters the staid halls of Japanese politics. Or just totally insane :~

Last year in Britain we had a chap running for local office in a gorilla suit. He was an independent, oddly enough... He won! The town he was on the council for, Harrogate, is famous for hanging a monket thinking it was a frenchman. Must have been the beret. Sadly, since winning he's gone for sensible policies rather than a pro-bananas one. Iain.
