True, but in this case - Unilever paid cash. It isn't just a matter of valuation. Well, OK, it is a case of Unilever valuing the company as worth paying 1B in cash. It's just in this case, someone got the Benjamins. It's that part that has me agog this morning.

This can be attributed to the prime rates for the central banks be at record lows for years. Investors are getting really desperate for anything with decent returns and are making increasingly risky maneuvers. Personally, I've pulled out of my stocks for the most part.

Not so daft. You can pretty much bank on it making 4-500Kpa, and most of that will be from Unilever products, so it's a sound investment, even over the mid term. What is absolutely priceless is the guys who are doing it. They've built up a ginormous rep, so the attitude Unilever has to take is "Here's your money, now we'll go away and let you just get on with doing what you do so well". Yeah, right.

So a company thats business model was to sell products for significantly less than was charged by giant consumer good conglomerates was just bought by a giant consumer good conglomerate. Gee I wonder how they're going to go from the red to the black within a year. :confused::confused::confused:
