At first it looked like fun (picture 1). However - continuing down the page I realize that picture one is what the beer makes you see and down the page is the real story. Although it does speak well of the beer, I'll never quite understand these old-world celebrations.

In part these traditions go back thousands of years in form of celebrating the end of winter and scaring away the spirits of winter. Then were intgrated into christian celebrations when christian missionaries tried to tame the barbarians. Much later everything got a more political note.
