      What's an indicator?

If it's not broken, fix it until it is. Everything makes sense in someone's mind. Ya can't fix stupid.

Aha! From your question I see you must be an American driver. This makes sense.

Speaking of cars, in the U.S., General Motors used to have a place called the Jobs Bank, before their bankruptcy. Back then, GM had much more capacity than demand; so entire shifts of people who had nothing to do would go to work at the Jobs Bank. I have heard of numbers in the 5000+ range. I believe all they were doing was sitting around and playing cards and watching TV. GM was not allowed to lay them off, because of union contracts. So I am lucky, though I forget it sometimes.

We had a similar situation in our motor manufacturing days. It was called "British Leyland". The night shift used to bring mattresses, apparently.

Turn signals, rear-view mirrors, headlights, ... the list goes on. My experience as a cyclist is that BMW drivers are asshats by choice, not by chance or innate talent.

Well... if you are driving on the right side of the road, in the inner lane and stick your hand out the left window to indicate you are merging right, who's gonna see it?

Turn signals, rear-view mirrors, headlights, ... the list goes on. My experience as a cyclist is that BMW drivers are asshats by choice, not by chance or innate talent.

Interestingly this varies by country and city. In Australia, it's the Volvo drivers who are the worst - though this may have changed. Over in Canada it's Lexus drivers (all the Volvo drivers over here are ageing hippies whose only crime is driving too slowly and with a hat on).

                                          cheers Chris Maunder
