Neither Trump nor Clinton are people I would want as neighbours (or as President), but neither of them is in the least comparable to Hitler. I suggest that you brush up on your history, my friend.

If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack. --Winston Churchill

You are looking at Hitler through the eyes of history. In 1933 when Hitler came to power he was seen as the leader to restore Germany from the ravages of World War I. No one really knew what was to come in the future.

In the event that he won a democratic election, yes, who wouldn't? Are you seriously suggesting that people are bad if they can't see the future? It's ironic that you invoke feelings of despotic leaders in order to shame someone into rejecting a democratic process.

I think his point was: Hitler did win a democratic election too, it was later when he started to drive nuts and put the whole world upside down. But yes... I agree with the previous comment. This thema start to stink. It is time to move over and see what the future brings

You had your humanity taken away by Trump? I'm sorry to hear that. I guess that locker room talk was in fact real and in reference to you. That must be hard to deal with.

Agreed, but it was a strong policy statement of the future if Hitler got into power. - removal of the Jews from Europe - the subjugation of Slavs and other Untermenschen - the right of the Aryan race to take lands away from the Untermenschen for Lebensraum. - revolution after power - rebuild Germany's military Certainly nobody in Germany should have been too surprised about how things turned out. It almost became required reading after 1933, and was given as a wedding present to all newly weds, but, by then of course, it was too late.

I did, in both German and English, including book 2 of 1926.
