Chili’s under fire after manager takes free meal from vet on Veterans Day[^] What a jerk.

What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question? The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism. Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

Why is everyone angry against Chilis? Chilis did not do anything wrong. They gave out hundreds of thousands of free meals. Why boycott them? Morons!

Neither Trump nor Clinton are people I would want as neighbours (or as President), but neither of them is in the least comparable to Hitler. I suggest that you brush up on your history, my friend.

Donald Trump is using his platforms to incite crowds with hateful, racist, xenophobic messages. His supporters are marching through the street attacking women and minorities, and he talks about "getting rid" entire segments of the population

This is on par with the people complaining about the president elect when he has not done anything yet. One guy in bad uniform (why) and one miss guided manager end up being a headline. The manager should just have let it go. One meal is not going to break them for all they gave away, but being wrong will.

Ya. Taking the food away was just stupid. They probably would have thrown it away so why not just let it go and let him have it.

Links, or it didn't happen. The MSM would be covering this 24x7, if true.

They are? Again, I would expect the MSM to be covering this 24x7. A quick check on NBC news shows nothing!

Yes, he has spoken about deporting illegal immigrants. Are you claiming that enforcing the laws that have been on the books for over 90 years is suddenly "racist, xenophobic, etc."?

I can agree that there are similarities between some of their methods but they are generally limited to rhetoric. He's not the only person to get elected on those platforms. Prior to his rise to power, Hitler and the Nazi party created paramilitary groups that actively engaged in organized violence and murder against political opponents, particularly the communists. It's only when Hitler failed to realize his vision through violence did he begin pursuing legal means to gain power. After Hitler consolidated his power, he returned to violence. When we see organized, well-armed militias of thugs targeting Democrats and minorities you can truly draw comparisons between Trump and Hitler. I'm not defending Trump (I didn't vote for him) but I am not going to jump to conclusions and define his presidency before the inauguration.

The problem is... even if it is not completely implemented some things will do cause the same effect than throwing a stone into a peaceful water. The waves are the ones that can have dumb effects. As much as I don't like it, (but I do realize about it), America and what happens in America has consequences in many other places over the world.

                  Quote:

My observation of the anti-Trump protests is that it mostly involves young people. This is their first fake-Hitler scare. They don’t realize that Reagan was compared to Hitler, both Bush presidents were compared to Hitler, and Romney was compared to Hitler. I assume lots of European and other leaders have also been compared to Hitler. You might want to point that out to any young person who thinks this is the first time we’ve seen this.

It's very easy to judge people simply because of what you have seen in the media, who don't always report objectively, or by listening to those we believe have our best interest at heart who we mostly agree with. It's not necessarily so easy to realize those same individuals do not always get it right. Or realize sometimes rational people can panic just as much as irrational people. It can be even harder to wait to pass judgement until we see what actions the newly elected will take. I don't like either Clinton or Trump, I think they're both nuts. But the country has had it's say and according to the constitution, Trump is now president of the U.S. I'll start to compare him to Hitler when he starts ordering illegals—and other undesirables—to be lined up against a wall and shot. And I'll call anyone who follows that order a coward.

We can all rest easy on the fact that the U.S. Constitution prevents Trump, or any branch of government, from accumulating the level of power and authority that Hitler did. Unless they find a way to throw out the Constitution, we don't have to worry about the U.S. turning into a fascist state like Nazi Germany. Now, have we set the country back about 50 years? That is the question.

Not quite. President elect, or next president. Also there is a mighty slim chance the electoral college could elect someone else. However, I do not know all the rules about this. Other than that, well said. There were people saying President Obama would make us a Muslim state, but that did not happen.

After getting a brief education in fascist corporatism I can say that the signs are there. You can't name one regulatory body in the federal government that doesn't have a cozy relationship with members of the of the very industry they are supposed to regulate.

I am not sure how it came about but sometimes, in America at least, "getting a cup of coffee" is sometimes said "getting a cup of java", or a "cup of joe". Not a coffee drinker so I never bothered to figure it out.

Trump is now president of the U.S.

Not quite. President elect, or next president. Also there is a mighty slim chance the electoral college could elect someone else. However, I do not know all the rules about this. Other than that, well said. There were people saying President Obama would make us a Muslim state, but that did not happen.

Very, very slim chance. Most states have law against electors changing their pledged vote, though it has happened. Some states laws go so far as to invalidate the vote of an elector who has changed they pledged vote. But yes, we won't know 100% until Dec. 19, the Monday after the second Wednesday in December.

Ah, research.... It appears that when the java programming language was released, it used a coffee cup icon. So, I imagine that Chris continued the tradition. It would also be appropriate since the Dutch planted coffee on the isle of Java in the 1600s and that became a generic term for coffee much like wines are identified by the region they originate, coffee apparently does the same thing.
