Visual Studio addicts, Java people, and [other] kid sisters, please avert your eyes. If the Makefile is the Maker of all executable files, who is the Maker of the Makefile ?

These are not the makefiles we are looking for. Compile along.

Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Now you have done it. I will need something like this[^] to play in an endless loop while I'm writing code. :-)

And who made the maker of the makefile? And who made the maker of the maker of the makefile? ... :)

If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack. --Winston Churchill

Actually a genuine question, since the first big milestone of a compiler is when you can compile it in the language you have programmed it for. :^)

                  It is recursive!

In Word you can only store 2 bytes. That is why I use Writer.

MAK files are too rigid; generating them at build-time saves a lot of tedious maintenance work. At the place I worked in the 90s they used "KAM" files to make "MAK" files.
