When I was young, my mother would never allow me or my sister to drink coffee or tea (i guess because of the caffiene). I was so not interested in it that I never drank tea or coffee until I was 15 or so. To my dismay, in my office one guy was picking out the best flavour for his 6 to 12 year old children. So, At what age did u guys start drinking coffee, tea etc? Do you let your kids drink them? Thomas My article on a reference-counted smart pointer that supports polymorphic objects and raw pointers

I don't drink coffee. Nor have I ever drunk coffee. I can't get past the smell making me vomit. It makes coffee breaks very messy affairs. I used to drink tea as a child. I was probably about seven years old. I stopped when I found hot chocolate and alcohol. Not together though, that would taste crap. Nowadays I just use coke. Did I say use? I mean't drink. I don't let my kids drink tea, coffee or coke though. Then again I don't let them watch telly, go outside or use the telephone. They are all bad for them too. Really I do not have any kids. But I wouldn't let them drink coffee because it makes you taste really bad. And it stains your teeth. I must leave now. I will get this addin working. Someday. ** twitch twitch **

The question really was whether it was a matter of your choice or did your parents restrict you or tell you that coffee is not very good for you. I got used to it for a while (an year or so), because of the Kuerig coffee maker at my office. It brews coffee very fast, so you get fresh coffee in many different flavours whenever :-). Now, I have gone back to water as my primary drink; and tea once in a while. Thomas My article on a reference-counted smart pointer that supports polymorphic objects and raw pointers

I've been drinking tea ever since I can remember but I didn't start drinking coffee until high school. Even now, I can't drink coffee unless it has cream and sugar in it (unless it's really good coffee). I drink cappucino's like a crazy madman when the opportunity arises though.:) This reminds me of the night my roommate first got his new espresso machine. He drank 12 cups and then called the student health services and said, "I just drank 12 cups of espresso am I going to die?" really fast. He was so wired that night we were able to talk him into dressing up in a gorilla suit and doing really stupid stuff like going into the ladies restroom, running away from RAs for no reason, and posing as a duty team member. We made a video and the best scene is where we're getting off the elevator. He's dressed up in the gorilla suit, sitting in a shopping cart (I'm the "driver"), and holding an umbrella. We got a lot of funny looks that night. Sorry about my ramblings, I'm a little tipsy Brad Jennings Brad Jennings "You're mom is nice. Mind if I go out with her?" - Jörgen Sigvardsson

I dont drink coffee but I have tried tea. Didnt like it very much. It didnt have any real flavor to it. Honestly it tasted like dirty water. Have not had it again since. I drink alot of juice tho. A beer or 3 if its extremely cold. I love those freeze mugs. Cheers

I drank tea from an early age, probably 10 or so. I drink about 15 cups of tea a day now. On the way into work this morning the radio news announced some French researchers have discovered that tea (regular, not herbal or green or rooibos) drinkers have stronger immune systems and may even be less likely to get cancer. And regular tea is healthy enough, in moderation of course, just like anything. It is not going to screw up your kids.

Sensible people don't let their kids have either. Too much caffeine isn't good for the growing body. My son is 6 and occasionaly gets to have a small Coke with his Happy Meal. Lemonade (Sprite to you heathens), juice, water are the staples. Instant coffee and tea bags also don't have the caffeine level of fresh brewed coffee and tea leaves. Both my kids occasionaly have tea but I think coffee will be left until at least high school.

Well, as a kid, I can say that I never really got into caffeine until this year (14 years old). Nowadays its Jolt soda (citrus flavored, preferably) or just straight caffeine pills (). I can't stand the taste of Coke, and didn't like coffee when I tried it a while back... eh, caffeine pills take care of it all.

I started drinking tea around 10 or so also. My parents wouldn't let me have coffee but tea was ok. I never did figure that out. Have been drinking tea from then on. Here's a link stating something similar to what you heard Paul. http://health.discovery.com/news/afp/20030421/tea.html[^] An interesting quote from the article: "The health benefits of tea have been touted for centuries but no human research has demonstrated an association between tea drinking and immunology," said lead author Jack Bukowski. Cheers and keep drinking that tea! Mike
