 Even if that were true (which if you believe to be the case, I've a beautiful bridge in London for sale), it goes to show how easy is it for a retard to own and use a gun in the USA. I'd also bet this wasn't the only looney with a gun in the USA.

In fact the greatest leades of the world banned civillians from having weapons, as they are not fit to have them. Mussolini and Hitler knew what was right for us!

I know, right? The newspapers are just full of reports of those people shooting up the place because of Trump's rhetoric.

I've no doubt that there are numerous racist lunatics like the one who committed this murder, but thankfully most of them are not retarded enough to go out and kill other human beings. This situation is true, regardless of where you turn. In India, the Kannadigas fight with the Tamils, the Tamils fight with the Mallus, and it goes on. On the other hand, and fortunately, there are more good people for every such racist in existence. People like the one who committed this murder though, they go by the "finders keepers" ideology - one which lets those deluded ones believe that "mmuricah/straya/insert whatever land these criminals invaded and committed a genocide in to grab/ is THEIR LAND, and everyone else should go out". "Finders keepers" would sound cute or understandable when it's proclaimed by a 7 year old, or a developmentally challenged adult. The rest are all grumpy old deluded hypocritical shits who are in serious disconnect with reality.

The guy was not a "retard"; that's the whole point. He was pissed off with his life, and pissed up. What the rhetoric did was paint a target for him. Yes, there are likely to be more instances, and yes, the behaviour of some members of the security services can be expected to move in a negative direction, but it's a country of 80Meg people, the vast majority of whom are decent folks, so don't go over the top with the condemnation.

In fact, it doesn't - well except if you're into sport shooting, in that case you'll find yourself a bit poorer and with less free weekends. That's the whole point: a sane honest citizen (I know USA have poor control of gun ownership requisites) has little change of lifestyle owning a gun but, if willing, he's capable of defending himself. I used defending, because no matter where the police is or whter they will catch a criminal afer the fact: when you're in your home with your family and several armed intruders your life is in danger there and then, you have seconds while the Police is minutes away. Even if there is a shotting or mugging on the street in order to preserve your life and health and that of those around you you have seconds. That's why I support the right to bear arms - right that in my country (Italy) is choked more and more while gangs have full access to arms - illegal, they are delinquent, they give a damn about any law and still get their own weapons.

I know, right. But hang on, "founding" the nation and "holding it from other people (invaders)" has been over since a LONG time. This would be untrue only if you were living in Syria or some such place in the middle of a conflict. Sure, the Russians patrol the US waters now and then, but that's not the case here. This is a case of a cold-blooded murder where one resident of a country shot and killed another one for reasons that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with founding a nation or guarding it. If I were completely naive, I wouldn't have known they're basically setting up a case for "insanity" by proclaiming that this crook is depressed and other nonsense. If only he hadn't shouted "get out of my country" in a public place before shooting someone dead.

On a second thought, may be everyone should have a gun, given how it's percolated into the culture and society. May be then this criminal could have been shot into a cullender by the rest of the public in that bar. I'm going to agree that everyone should have it, or none.

Quickly turning this into a Trump shit-show, are we? Nice move, except for I said nothing about Trump X| or US politics. We've enough political foetor and melodrama here down under; granted it's nowhere as bad as the US though.

Well, these guys are apparently new, so they don't know that a) I'm probably the most heartlessly sarcastic person here, and b) I don't give a flyin' rat f*ck about their over-developed lady-boy sensitivities. The more experienced users have no f*ckin excuse. They know how I am.

Been in that situation twice, escaped from it with all my family thanks to our weapons. Our neighbors were unarmed: we found them beaten to near death and bound to their chair, them and their elderly parents too (80 years old more or less). So no, I do not concede that point. BTW in both cases police arrived with a single car, 40 minutes after the call and with a single frightened policeman because the driver had to stay in the car.

Thanks for that. You should contact all the people who have done studies that all show having a firearm in the home drastically increases the chances of being killed by it outside of any "intruder" scenario, as clearly all of those studies are wrong as your single anecdote takes precedence over any wider study involving tens of thousands of homes over years of time.

Careful, we don't start the whole "a defensive weapon is an offensive weapon" thing, again -- I hate to see grown men cry.

Cool, so show me some studies that show having a firearm in the house does not put you at a greater general risk from that firearm's mere presence.

On a second thought, may be everyone should have a gun, given how it's percolated into the culture and society. May be then this criminal could have been shot into a cullender by the rest of the public in that bar. I'm going to agree that everyone should have it, or none.

Nah, just give 'em all to JSOP; he's qualified to use 'em.

I own several firearms. None of them ever got up and shot anyone. I fail to see how the mere presence of a weapon may be a danger.
