Put this in the Soapbox. You know damn well we can't talk about this topic here in the Lounge, no matter what your smart ass mouth says. :)

I agree. Look how the world is coming together.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data. There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

I've seen no indication about anything about the attacker other that he appeared to be of Asian origin. You must have closer links to the security services than the rest of us; or you are just blindly speculating.

It's not so much the topic that makes something merit the Soapbox; it's how it's talked about. If it's in the lounge, it's for having a laugh -- and I, for one, would rather have a laugh than play armchair politician in the Soapbox.

True. Do you think a topic such as this will stay comedic? I don't. It has great potential to fall of the path to laughter.

The recent pictures of the attacker don't look asian to me. In fact, the suspect is named Abu Izzadeen from Clapton in Hackney. Not asian origin.

From what I've seen, he was a guy of undefined origin armed with a car and a stick (which may or may not have been a knife), and the only people shooting were the rozzers. It'll probably turn out that he's a plumber from Clacton who was pissed off at being treated like sh1t by the Child Support Agency, or somesuch. A bit of a joke, really. More people a year get killed by London buses than get killed in incidents like this -- but millions more of taxpayers' money won't be channeled into total surveillance and snooping because of London buses. What's really upsetting is that I'm slightly less likely to win the lottery than to be killed in such an incident. However, if I ever bought a lottery ticket, the odds would change dramatically. [edit] I can't believe that I typoed "Clapton", after my All-Seeing Eye told me that that was where he was from! [/edit]

At the time I posted, we didn't have reliable pictures (most had his face blanked out) and we certainly didn't have his name. The point was, of course, that conclusions were rapidly jumped to and were being aired long before any useful intelligence was being displayed.

Radical Muslims that want to hurt non-muslims. I am of the mindset that you are a strong liberal/socialist ( I could be wrong) and that is fine. When the story broke out here in the States and when I went online it was clear that the suspect was a radical Muslim based on the information presented to me. I hate radical Muslims who want to hurt/kill non-muslims and non-radical muslims. If that makes me the bad guy, then I am glad to be that bad guy. I voted for Trump because he wants to keep radical Muslims who want to hurt/kill non-radical muslims out of my country. Maybe England, Scotland, Ireland, etc. should do the same. Just a thought.

Yup, and the best that this major member of an uber-major ter'r'rist organisation could do was use a car and a pointed stick (which may or may not have been a knife from his mum's kitchen). The amount of bullsh1t we're being fed about ter'r'rism is so incredibly huge that it almost matches the amount of taxpayers' money that's being stolen by governments to "make war" on it by spying on us.

Yup. "Radical muslims" has become a buzzword, now. Such buzzwords are needed, because the budgets to "make war" on ter'r'rism (by spying on decent people and treating them like sh1t) can only be signed off on if "the people" are up in arms about it. It's all bollocks, Mate. You're being led by the nose to the slaughterhouse by your own government and "security forces". Rather than worry about the very, very few @rseholes with no resources who call themselves ter'r'rists, you should worry about the far greater number of @rseholes who are using this "war on ter'r'rism" to spend all your hard-earned tax money on denying you your legal and human rights.

I wanna be a eunuchs developer! Pass me a bread knife!

He killed 4 people so far. I'm sure you are glad that your loved ones weren't one of the victims. The amount of bullshit we are being fed, is just right, and on time.
