Hi, everyone. I was just wondering how you people first got to this site. How did you learn that a place called Code Project exists. Was it a banner ad, link, or search engine, etc. I personally first found this website on the Yahoo search engines. What about you guys / gals ? Chris, how did you advertise this site ? I would like to see all CP users respond to this. Thank You

I used to use Code Guru and got annoyed that it constantly seemed to lose my registration details. I'm sure someone there referred to CP and I came over. The articles were good, although the forums were a little slow, so I started coming here to answer any questions I could ( however badly :)). I initially kept using Code Guru to ask my questions due to higher traffic there, but as time progressed Code Project gathered momentum and I've not been back there for a long, long time. Code Project has never lost my password, and I had to create a new one the past two times I went to Code Guru. I wrote them an email about it and the essence of their reply was 'get stuffed'. I beleive I first found out about The Code Project during a conversation with Stas Levin (BCGSoft) back when the BCGControlBar library was in version 4.7x. I found out about BCGControlBar from the online MSDN Library, after reading Stas's post in the Wordpad example. So, I found The Code Project very much by accident - but once I was here, I was here to stay. David Wulff dwulff@battleaxesoftware.com

I've been lurking here since the beginning (well almost). I migrated over from CodeGuru.

Someone at pocketprojects.com said something about codeproject.com, in one of the forums. I have been here since :) - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!"

I was doing my master thesis and spent a lot of time at www.godeguru.com. Then all of a sudden there was alot of remarks about "the other site" called codetools that was about to open soon. So I went there when it opened, and even though I could never get the forums to remember my settings ;P I stuck around. I rarley post, but I come here 3-4 times a day to check new articles and read the lounge (which is always entertaining :-D )

I was searching for some Win32 programming information in Google, and kept getting results that included links to The Code Project. So, I started looking around, liked what I saw, signed up, and posted my first article last week! :-) -- Paul "I drank... WHAT?"

Same here. Kind of funny how it has since pretty much displaced CodeGuru. Oh how the times have changed. I sent in the two articles I had posted on GodeGuru, and soon after got an enthusiastic "thank you" from Chris. That was nice. :-) Nick
