You are a moron. Nobody is poor because someone else is rich. Rich people aren't thieves because they are rich, well, except maybe for Soros and his ilk. You want a 'fair' personal tax plan? Fine, every single man, woman, and child pays the exact same amount tax for every day they are alive with the only exceptions being those that are truly disabled and unable to work (physically or mentally handicapped). No business or corporate taxation whatsoever as business have no 'vote' (taxation without representation). That is a 'fair' tax plan. Maybe then, people will pay attention to the real problem, spending. Personally I think income tax is a terrible concept. Taxing should be done on consumption/sales only with also import taxation for the purpose of enforcing trade and market leveling. This is all typical envy and jealousy, you're not 'rich', therefore you hate them and want their success, 'luck', and hard work to pay your own way.

Well, of course. Because anyone that doesn’t think just like you is obviously a moron, you being so smart an’ all, and knowing everything. The rest of what you say is a typical straw man response (and, if I may so, pretty moronic at that.). I don’t want their riches. I really, really, do not. I would like to live in a world where decent basic, healthcare, housing, food and water, and education was a standard, not just available to the reasonably well-off. There is no economic reason why this should be a utopian dream, and unrealizable. It is that only because of human nature – greedy, selfish and ultimately fearful. As such it probably will remain but a dream, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it, and not call people out for what they are.

Tell that to the people that has lost rent insurances, fonds and other savings, just because a rich wanted to be richer and scammed them all. Or people working their asses off to see how the boss takes profit and get self-made boni while all the rest don't get a shit.

You have a very distorted, inaccurate, and unrealistic view of people who make more money than you. don't be so lame in your thinking, and stop generalizing the rich.

I am not. If you read carefully that was exactly my point: There are "good" and "bad" persons in every social / economic status. As I already said... I have no problem with rich people who have worked hard or had luck in life or both. I only have a problem with people that makes money at the cost of other people, no matter if legally or illegally. And there are people on both sides of the spectrum.

I have - but never mind. Let’s be generous and say that a person is maybe 2x as intelligent as average and works 10x as hard and is 5x as lucky … in which case there is an argument for them being 100x as rich. That’s OK – I can deal with people being 100x as rich as average. That’s quite rich. Good for them. Beyond that – they’re thieves.

Yep, 100% agree. Scrap all tax except VAT and levy it at a rate that reflects the luxury value of the product. Bread, 0%, Ferraris, 100%. One tax body, less govt employees, less public expenditure.

What a pile of crap. How does a 'rich person' 'scam poor people out of rent, funds, and insurance'? There are plenty of scammers out there, they are called criminals, some are in prison already, many will be soon. Some make a living, just, others are more successful, but you cant equate criminality with wealth, that is utterly wrong and very ignorant.

So if you make 20% on some Galaxo stock in a year, making a profit of a few hundred, that is fair, but when Soros makes billions doing exactly the same it isnt? You really are very immature.

Preface this with "I am an independent, not a lib or con." Government should help take care of those who need it and stay out of my business. My biggest problem is the degree that said tax breaks shift through the years for the low vs middle vs upper class. Yes it is a prediction, but it appears that I get a small break now that gets smaller for the next 10 years and might even turn into a tax increase during that time. Along with that they make the business cuts permanent but leave me with the hope that they were right with the "No one would ever let these tax breaks expire!" logic.

Those that are not rich are getting tax breaks too, not just the rich. Read the bill.

Here is the rub. Who defines who "needs" it? Ask the far left and they'll say "everybody who asks". Ask the far right and they'll say "only the truly infirmed". In the US alone there are 10's of millions of people in between those 2 extremes.

I start thinking you have a different definition of "rich" than me. Because I really don't understand what is so wrong in my statement.

Some make a living, just, others are more successful, but you cant equate criminality with wealth, that is utterly wrong and very ignorant.

Would you please really read carefully what I have written? I have nowhere said that, but I am against your "all rich are nice and good people" because this is as wrong as the other way around. I already said:

The one that manages to make money without harming anyone and having respect for the rest of the people... I do say: Kudos ... Generalizing is wrong, in both directions.

                                          and

                                          Quote:

There are "good" and "bad" persons in every social / economic status. ... I have no problem with rich people who have worked hard or had luck in life or both.

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
