      Very clever.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data. There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Despite your childish motivations, I am still so glad I voted for Trump, and not Hillary. I will also be voting for him again. Oh, and by the way, Haiti is shit-hole country.

And I can guarantee that nearly every monarch, PM and president of every nation on Earth (shithole or not) has described some other country in similar terms while behind closed doors.

But Trump is denying he said it now - are you calling your president a hypocrite?! The guy's an idiot. The only people who might believe him are the very people who don't care he said it anyway - everyone else knows he's just compounding his idiocy with a lie.

But Trump is denying it now. Better change your opinion too, I guess! It isn't just the rest of the world that has a negative view of Trump - even a New York daily newspaper has devoted the whole of it's front page to a drawing of a pile of shit to represent him. When is it going to sink in to the half of the US that still doesn't get it? Everyone else, all over the world and half of your countrymen can see it.

Like your president, huh? There was a time when the POTUS was perhaps the most respected person and position on the planet. Now your own NY daily paper uses a big pile pf sh*t to represent him. Wake up.

I'm an Aussie living in Singapore, he is NOT "my president" except possibly in his own mind. I'd call him a whole lot of expletives, including idiot, but he has shaken up US politics.

It was the NY Daily News, not the Times in this case. NO doubt they're just as bad - anything that isn't along the right lines is propaganda; anything that is, is objective truth - right? "We" can think clearly. "They" are brainwashed. Ho-hum.

Of course the counter to that is that the president of the US, who in not in fact just some politician, is responsible for a great number of things, including diplomacy with the rest of the world. Consequently it is reasonable for one to presume that a responsible and intelligent president, despite his private thoughts on the matter, would restrain himself, most of the time when expressing himself. Doesn't mean that sometimes he cannot be forthright, but just as it is shocking to see a 5 year old shout 'f*ck' for the first time, seeing a 20 year old that starts every sentence that way only suggests that the 20 year old did not in fact learn how to be an adult and is in fact not very intelligent.

 Hate to destroy your preconceived opinions of me but... I'm not a bible thumping, knee jerk Republican. In fact, I'm not a Republican at all - I'm an independent. I'm not a political neophyte either - I've been following US politics pretty closely since my teens (think Jimmy Carter) and have been a student of US politics in the modern era (think JFK to present). I'd label myself a proponent of classical liberalism[^]. Socially I'm pretty liberal - pro choice, equal rights for all genders / races / creeds, full rights (including marriage) for LGBTQ community, legalized marijuana, legalized prostitution, etc... Fiscally I'm very conservative. I want a very small government and low taxes. Charity should come from actual charities not the government. I deplore the idea of a nanny state. Immigration into the US should be done legally and kept to reasonable numbers. Given all this I don't defend everything Trump or GOP. I'm fully capable of reading newspapers and magazines (I read many of them from all political stripes) and making my own opinions. After all these years one notices patterns and sees trends. Nearly all of the big newspapers in the major cities (NY, LA, Chicago, SF) lean far left. During Republican administrations they go into attack mode. They are actively looking to find fault, to subvert and to promote the left. During Democrat administrations they are actively looking to hide fault and to promote their agenda. They went overboard supporting the Obama administration. They've taken it to an entirely new level of attack with Trump as POTUS. Certainly Trump deserves a full helping of criticism at times, but the current environment of hatred and accusations from the left is not healthy. They've opened a Pandora's Box and I fear it will be quite difficult to close.

The biggest difference is that the 20 years old might still has time to learn and might be more polite on his/her 30ies... Sepaking about someone 60+ years old... it is another thing

Well…. it’s quite astonishing really how you and the Republicans (if you want to distance yourself from them, but you’re at one here) can do a complete volte face without even blinking. To say it’s the Left that has “opened a Pandora’s box” is staggering – it's the Republicans who have done that. The left, for all their faults, were just bumbling along as usual (wasn’t that half the appeal of Trump - that he offered something ”different”?) and it was the Republicans who have lurched further and further to extremes. Dubya was bad enough, then they came up with Sarah Palin, but even she wasn’t quite loony enough, so finally they came up with Trump. It is he who has demeaned the office of POTUS by taking lying to a new level – which is quite an achievement for a politician; he who has courted the extreme fascist Right, to the extent that people feel free to march in the streets of America openly wearing Nazi insignia; he who is fanning the flames of racism and xenophobia. Trump has opened the box – don’t complain to anyone but him if you don’t like the smell coming out with the wind. But you're right about one thing: closing that box is going to be nigh on impossible. Just remember who opened it.
