I guess Java is going towards C# and .NET..:):):):) http://java.sun.com/features/2003/05/bloch_qa.html[^] Madhu.
In J2EE's defense, Java developers have been asking for these features for years. If anything, .NET has been a movement towards J2EE. The idea if IL is analogous to bytecode in Java. A standard class library across the platform has also been around for quite some time in the Java world.

Yes, yes, I'm joking. But why is it that I like C# and I could never tolerate Java? To answer my own question, I think it's in part because I really have an emotional repulsion to cutesy names (of course, C# is pretty cutesy in itself), and the people that were touting Java a few years ago at the company I worked for were real dorks. I guess I base my opinions of things more on emotion than on logic. However, the Java crowd has, from my observations, always held the "holier than thou" attitude, which I just can't stand (seeing as I have one myself) :-D At least with C#, there seems to be some realism and actual discussion of performance issues, etc., whereas the Java people I talked to never questioned their gods. marc Help!
