What about storing articles locally, on my HD? I guess that is allowed, right? :~ I'm not gonna distribute them, of course. And yes, I second what you say about linking to the article. :)

You can link to one or two articles, but systematic linking is also considered to be illegal. jhaga CodeProject House, Paul Watson wrote: ...and the roar of John Simmons own personal Nascar in the garage. There is a question. Is this illegal if I copy this sources(Articles) to my home page? (of course , I'll notice the original writer) ;) There are two men, one is a programmer, another is a man.

You see, when I write articles for a magazine, people somehow associate my name to the magazine. The same thing happens with online articles: people will associate your name and your work to the containing web site. Taking an extreme example, I would not like any of my articles showing on a porn site. If you only want to be informative on your homepage, you could link the articles with the first paragraph. And yes, I often search for my articles on Google. My SQL Server do's and dont's article is often copied by other sites, and I don't agree with it. Normally, I only notify them, but other people may have stronger lawyers :) My latest article: GBVB - Converting VB.NET code to C#

I personally would have no problem with someone copying stuff that I had contributed here so long as they added value to the article - for instance by translating them into another language (human or programming language) and gave a link to the original source. Thanks, Chris, for making it clear to everyone. But my question has gone unanswered: Is it OK for me to save the articles (and source, of course) to my hard disk? I was NOT going to upload them to any site anyway. I won't be distributing the stuff in any other way either- I'll be having them strictly for personal use. Of course, there'll be a link to the CP home page from my site. :) Thanks,
Vikram. ----------------------------- My site due for a massive update Radioactive cats have 18 half-lives. "Do not give redundant error messages again and again." - A classmate of mine, while giving a class talk on error detection in compiler design.
