On Monday morning, while reading this[^] discussion I snapped, and responded to a code sample in the discussion in a manner that was blatantly mean and uncalled for, and for that, I apologize to the community as a whole and member georani[^] in particular. I greatly enjoy CodeProject, and my post did not uphold the standards of this community. Again, my apologies.

    Sincerely, -Mark mamiller@rhsnet.org

That guy was waving a red cape and was just waiting for a bull to come charging. I really don't know what kind of complexes these VB guys struggle with. 'SEE: We are NO NOOBS and VB is NOT USELESS! 3 billion other noobs say so!' Just keep laughing.

I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

:) Long back there was a guy called "Osmo" who wrote his own language & compiler (Plain English compiler) and wanted everyone to follow him. This is sounding similar. I guess Georani could be the son of.. creator of this historic tragedy called VB.

A long time ago I worked in interpreted BASIC, then QuickBasic, then a variant of BASIC called Metropolis (used in Alpha-Micro minis), FoxPro and a few other languages, and then I discovered C# and never looked back. I've always looked at programming language discussions wars like this: If you enjoy programming in language XYZ, have at it! If you can make a living working in it, even better! Just please don't try to ram your preferred language down my throat. Sorta like the old tabs vs spaces battle... :-D

VB6 makes sense and I'm one of the people who'd like a VB7. VB.NET has no reason to exist since it's a more verbose C#, with the same toolset as C# but with some missing limb.

You are not supposed to mention that name. It some how summons the dark forces! While those old flame wars could be amusing, they did get long in the tooth.
