Number 9 could be a problem - Do not do to another what you would not have done to yourself. In the words of George Bernard Shaw - Do not do unto others as you expect they should do unto you. Their tastes may not be the same.

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.”

    ― Christopher Hitchens

It does not specify which species; so all murder counts, including eating bread-yeast.

What about being an accomplice to a mass murderer of mice that may reside in my house?

I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

I see a contradiction here: 54. Speak no useless words or words that move to laughter. Thy stored procedures shalt execute in 5 milliseconds :)

Let's see. At various times in my life I've broken: ...well, I was going to enumerate the list I've broken, but it's much shorter to enumerate the list I haven't: Murder and addiction to wine. Lord have mercy on my soul, I am clearly a major sinner!

When do you plan reducing the length of the list?

Stopped reading at number one - if you're going to start with that nonsense, the whole thing can only be a joke. It is a joke, right?

                  72 commandments.

                  Devote yourself frequently to prayer.

I prefer actual code-reviews over prayer. If someone prays before a release, it is time to move.

Attribute to God, and not to self, whatever good you see in yourself. Recognize always that evil is your own doing, and to impute it to yourself.

So if I do something good, he takes the credit, but if the devil makes me do it, it is my fault? Does that make God a software-manager?

                  Be not addicted to wine.

Then stop with turning water into it and start making smoothies.

                  Clothe the naked.

No need to; if they needed clothes they would be born with them.

People pray for dinner all the time. They're either very bad cooks or they have a lot of enemies (or both) :D

And by the time I log on they have replaced it with some more sensible drivel and the explanation that it was a code of ethics. It must have been very embarrassing

If I were vegan I would pray at least a dozen times a day, lest Grendizer/Goldrake or Mazinger turn up at the front door.
