No... the only ones able to lift the guilt from the shoulders of west Germans are the west Germans themselves. Past is past. One must not forget it, must learn from it, try not to repeat it, but leave it where it belongs... the past.

Precisely, by understanding it, including its origin.

If there were any justice in this world, Germany after WWII would have been razed and plowed under with salt. While Hitler came to power with the support of a minority, the vast majority were either silent partners or enthusiastic participants in the murder of Jews, Slavs, and anyone else the monster-in-chief called Untermenschen. The number of objectors was miniscule. As someone said when asked why West Germany was not more active in persecution of known Nazi criminals: "Six million dead Jews don't vote. Five million ex-SS members can, and do, every election."

Then we better start razing the whole world, africa, the US, asia and so on. I don't get it why people can not get over history. There were things made no one today (at least of those who have sense) would support anymore.

What the fuck has the US got to do with the fact that Hitler was used as a front by ultra right conservative Prussians to act on their hatred of Poles and Russians?

And with the reunification of Germany, the 'land across the Elbe', traditional Prussian, protestant, Nazi voting territory, is now united with western Germany. And now voting AFD in large numbers.... And the capital was moved from Bonn to Berlin. Old Prussian capital. And also as before the money is flowing west to east too.
You're trying to imply that this particular part of Germany is continuesly conquering - it is not.

No idea what the link to the US might be :D

Existed long before that, and is not really a Prussian idea.

If there was any justice Prussia would have been ring fenced and kicked back into the 12th century in 1918 where it belongs. That would have been an end of it, and most Germans would have been glad to see it go by all accounts.

Saw a very interesting WWI film called They Shall Not Grow Old. Guy Ritchie I think it was, had spent months colouring old film and and going back through past interviews with British Army survivors. Some interesting things came out. They said the Germans troops often missed on purpose when shooting at them. And Saxon and Bavarian troops shouted out across no mans land to be careful next week as they were being replaced by Prussians. This of course was only 50 years or so after Prussia went to war with Saxony and Bavaria. There seemed to be a lot of ill feeling in Germany for the Prussians still. The second was the hatred for the Prussians in Germany for continuing a war the people wanted done with much earlier.

}Of course Britain should have helped Hanover when it asked for it when attacked by Prussia in 1860. If the Prussian conquest of Germany had been averted then the Franco Prussian war, the Prussian Austrian war, and two world wars would not have happened. And neither would the Holocaust.

It would have happend elsewhere, under other circumstances and with a different title. This was not the first genocide, nor the last that happened on earth. Somehow it was just the one with most publicity.

Because the numbers involved were staggering. And of course the legacy of this is the 'moral justification' that has been given to the left ever since. And which we are suffering today.

Indeed! Counting becomes meaningless when such horrors occur, however other monsters in the 20th century include: Pol Pot who killed in the region of 2.5 million out of a population of 8 million. Stalin who killed in the region of 20 million out of a population of 100 million. Mao who killed in the region of 50 million out of a population of 660 million. It is truly horrendous what Pol Pol, Stalin and Mao did too. In the infamous words of Diane Abbott, the person who would probably become Home Secretary if the UK Labour party won an election, "I suppose some people would judge that, on balance, Mao did more good than harm"[^]

Well said indeed. Germany was saved from the wroth of the Allies by the Soviet threat from the East. They escaped any true justice, with just a few remaining leaders being punished. Britain's position was noteworthy in as much as we went to war to liberate Poland, and then let the Soviets/Russians occupy it. It seems to me that Nazi tyranny was simply replaced with Communist tyranny for half of Europe. If you think I don't like Germany much, and Russia even less, then you may well be right. :~

It's mostly a case of 'The winner writes the history'. Stalin made a much 'better' job actually. The numbers GuyThiebaut quotes are quite conservative. Only during the Holodomor there were 7 million dead (3-12 millions depending on who you decide to believe). It also largely explains the tensions between Ukraine and Russia today.

You are either disingenuous or amazingly ignorant. The USA never had a policy of murdering every Cambodian or Vietnamese, man, woman or child. They also did not set up industrial murder facilities to accomplish it, running trains from all over south-east Asia to feed them. This was a uniquely German "accomplishment".
