I think the same happened in Iraq some time ago, when the US abandoned them and they got gassed or something like that by Saddam. You think US allies would learn from these things. :)

If I recall, they began their ethnic wars with Obama's move. There's a real difference here: 1) outside party demands US leave so they can attack an ally* 2) hump agrees to cut and runs right after the threat 3) threat escalates to genocidal level * a for-real ally, not like the Iraqis or Afganis. But you're quite right - between Hump and Obama, only a jerk would put their lives in our hands. Or, with the Hump brand on the country, who'd make any kind of treaty, agreement, or anything else? He's a cancer.

So let's get some perspective here: Erdogan demanded Hump remove them and he promptly obeys his master. Face it - your brain-dead god in the white house is just an obedient serf. The mass murder that's already being threatened will be on his head - but he couldn't give two shits. Don't play the Obama game - it's Humps doing and Humps timing. Post as much weasel sleaze as you like, he's a pyrrhia and embarrassment to his species - whatever the fuck that is. And you - keep on covering for him (at least in your own head) because it's either that or admit he made the fool of you becaise, well, that he did make of you.

Wasn't that one of his campaign-promises? That's a going to set a dangerous precedent, politicians that keep a promise - seeing is believing.

If you're not confused by the world, you did not pay attention. The Kurds are NATO-allies, as are the Turks. Does that mean we're financing both sides? No wonder ISIS stopped existing, they're probably feeling ignored by the allies.

“We are going to convene my top generals and give them a simple instruction. They will have 30 days to submit to the Oval Office a plan for soundly and quickly defeating ISIS. We have no choice.” Perhaps he has a different definition of "soundly" that what I have. And apparently what some of the military experts actually involved in it do.

Last year Trump already called them defeated. Two weeks ago, the US officials were still explaining how ISIS was NOT yet defeated. Also nicely in the news was how Trump was instructed before Erdogans phone-call to and how in the call Erdo still managed to put Trump on the defense :) That clearly signals a few things; but most importantly, it shows how Trump is not in control - not in control of his country, not in control of the narrative.

Remember when Russia appointed a CIA agent as the head of their army?

I do not fear of failure. I fear of giving up out of frustration.

Trump is an idiot. Not hard to confuse him when he is the only one doing the talking.

Not sure what that is intended to mean. Certainly in terms of the Syrian withdrawal he is in control. That is why so many people are scrambling after his pronouncement.

First of all, they haven't retreated yet. Second, if they do retreat, then it will probably not be a complete one; sure, the soldiers go home, but the people who trained the rebels will probably stay. And from here, it looks more like he is fullfilling a "request" from his "ally".

                      That's the idea with a phone-call.
