Mark TwainIt's not a cellphone, so it's reasonably likely that you don't need a lock screen to prevent things activating when you put it in your pocket. To get rid of it:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Personalization\
(You might have to create the Personalization key)* Add a new DWORD(32-bit) - Name it NoLockScreen
- Give it a value of 1
Then it goes straight to the log-in screen

Not 100% up to date, but it did give me some useful info. Unfortunately to get access to the slider that disables the ads, I apparently have to completely disable Windows Spotlight, which then means that I can't get the pretty pictures either. :sigh: Rock and a hard place... X|

Not that I know of. I get the pretty pictures as well, but some times (not all the time) there are 2-3 links on top of the pretty picture to what appears to be commercial and/or gaming sites. :mad: Started December 21st for me...

I always encountered links on top of those pictures, and sometimes they point to commercial links, related to the current picture itself (like "Forza" game). Do you encounter totally unrelated links? BTW, All the files related to Windows spotlight should be located into %LocalAppData%\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy sub-directories and you should be able to check and disable their usage from the "lock screen" settings.

Yup, Windows Spotlight. It's a little different where the links point. One time it was to something in Windows Store, another time it was to some gaming site, etc. But I found a registry solution so that I could keep Windows Spotlight, but not get the ads. There is a link in another post in this thread...
