    Thanks for proving the point.

#SupportHeForShe Government can give you nothing but what it takes from somebody else. A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you've got, including your freedom.-Ezra Taft Benson You must accept 1 of 2 basic premises: Either we are alone in the universe or we are not alone. The point is you're a whiner. I didn't prove that - you did.

Frank Wilhoit: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition …There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” We never have had a president* so completely deserving of scorn and yet so small in the office that it almost seems a waste of time and energy to summon the requisite contempt

I’ve seen nothing to support that claim.

an article supporting your position/statement:JAMA Forum: Hospitals Don’t Shift Costs From Medicare or Medicaid to Private Insurers – news@JAMA[^] an up in the air still debating supporting docs: How Much Do Hospitals Cost Shift? A Review of the Evidence[^] article debunking hospitals that use the cost shift argument as inaccurate https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/24/upshot/why-hospitals-are-wrong-about-shifting-costs-to-private-insurers.html[^] as it currently stands, you are looking like you are correct with the cost shift because of medicare/medicaid. Still doesn't debunk high salaries and expensive medical supplies, etc AND insurance companies just being greedy. Politics and $$$, they both go together in the end.

an article supporting your position/statement:JAMA Forum: Hospitals Don’t Shift Costs From Medicare or Medicaid to Private Insurers – news@JAMA[^] an up in the air still debating supporting docs: How Much Do Hospitals Cost Shift? A Review of the Evidence[^] article debunking hospitals that use the cost shift argument as inaccurate https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/24/upshot/why-hospitals-are-wrong-about-shifting-costs-to-private-insurers.html[^] as it currently stands, you are looking like you are correct with the cost shift because of medicare/medicaid. Still doesn't debunk high salaries and expensive medical supplies, etc AND insurance companies just being greedy. Politics and $$$, they both go together in the end.

I haven't been attempting to debunk high costs in the US healthcare system. I know they are. The point I disagree with you is your statement that UHC cannot work in the US.

[Note: Less than a week left to discuss this.] There's the Left Wing; there's the Right Wing... that seems to be about it in the US. In Britain and Europe there's a lot of people in between, more central in their politics. We need to create a Demoblican Party for those of us who do not espouse extreme positions. We also need a better name for it; "Repucrat" just doesn't work either. Any suggestions? Who would join such a party?

                                        - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

That's pretty much how the democrat party started. The democrats have become extremists though, and the only centrist party (or non-extreme at least) is actually the republicans who remain fairly centre-right.

UHC cannot work when costs are still too high. That is my argument; not that UHC in and of itself won't work. You have to lower wages and the cost of medical equipment, supplies, hospital stays, etc. for UHC to have a chance. UHC will never work in this country because those things that I have listed will never change. Again, that is my argument. 7 Reasons Why Universal Healthcare Won’t Work in the US[^]
