A house cat. Plus two other neighbourhood cats which we feed. One thing I've learnt in dealing with animals is patience. Whether it is eating food, or drinking water, or other biological things like urinating or defecating, an animal takes its own length of time. One rescue dog that was owner surrendered for killing cats. (Four?) months later she found a five week old kitten at the side of the road. After a little drama for a few days, I've had them for over four years. After 20 years of no pets (it is cruel to have a pet in an apartment) we now have 2 black labs - huge time wasters.

That's just adding insult to injury :( I've had some very bad weeks because of this incident. It's not like I want to lose them, but cats go outside and in my case get scared off by neighbor cats or whatever. Goblin was very social and I've kept him inside for for seven weeks, which should be enough for him to know it's his house and it's safe. He's been outside for a bit a couple of times before, which went well. In any case, I don't think his taking off was voluntary. And I'm starting to doubt if Pink's was, which went exactly the same (but after ten weeks)... :( Needless to say, my next cat won't be going outside in the first year or so and after that only with a GPS collar...
