A question about Convid-19 vaccine shot.

I'm having a slight problem with that statement. First, how do you know if a doc doesn't know? I really wouldn't know that they don't know. Secondly, If you allow me to use an analogy, there are plenty of quite brilliant older programmers that perhaps doesn't have a clue about Linq for example, but they're still quite able to solve the problem in front of them. Hmm, that's perhaps not the best analogy, but I hope you get my drift.

What? Are you seriously suggesting that the cherry-picking, agenda-advancing, axe-grinding, attention seeking internet isn't the best source for life-changing decisions? Man, have I ever been doing this all wrong...

there's a pill for that.

Don't put all doctors on a pedestal. Don't forget that there are s****y, opinionated people in every profession. I'm not suggesting "consulting the internet" is any better. I just generally object to such blanket statements.
I think a person has much bigger problems in their life, if they don't trust their primary care doctor. I also think a person has even bigger problems in their life if they don't have a primary care doctor.

I think you meant to post this to devenv.exe

That's me. :( - well I have a clue, but not much more.

Actually not, I wanted to say that I don't necessarily want to change doctor because he/she has outdated knowledge, there is so much more to it than that. And the same goes for programmers.

Then you definitely want to post it to devenv.exe - it was him who made that assertion, not me.

Does any one here know or have some information about how safe it is to get the Covid-19 shots if one has unknowingly been exposed to the virus without any severe complications. I want to go for the vaccine but I'm not certain if I have had the virus or not & I have idea how safe that would be.

The vaccine protect acquiring disease SARS on severe form and also cut the chain and reduce the infection. It is highly recommended put only one dosis of Pfizer vaccine because reduce complications in the future. Anyway the coronavirus cure with clorures. If you ingest regulary bottle water or tap water both contain Cl you dont might have problems of infection.

I read that 95% of everything on the internet is biased and/or twisted from the truth for some political agenda. The other 5% is outright lies. ...of course, I read that on the internet!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Wheeler's specialization of Sturgeon's Law[^] to the Internet states: "99.97% of everything on the Internet is crap." It is worthwhile noting that the percentage is asymptotically approaching 100% as time goes on.

The worst that can happen is the worst that can happen without prior virus exposure. You may have experience less side-effects (as your immune system is already primed), but for sure not more.

doctor's here in the States do not want you getting a vaccine shot until 90 days out from last good test if you have been hospitalized with COVID-19 (as my close friend was, almost died). -- now that is worse case scenario (aside from death). What I recommend you do is consult a professional doctor (not a nurse, not a friend, not a family member, not the internet, not a wanna-be covid expert), but an MD and explain your situation and get their recommendation. my 2 cents.
Well said! When did Code Project become a forum for medical experts?

Have had the first Pfizer jab (South Africa). The accompanying documentation that was given to me was very clear on potential reactions / risks, and in my mind are perfectly acceptable. This was based on reported results on literally many millions of delivered shots world wide. I had no reaction other than a very slight inflammation and no pain of the injection site Neither did my 89-yo mother and her two sisters (both in their 80s). Almost their entire retirement facility has been vaccinated (about 200 people), with no severe reactions reported. Achieving 'herd immunity' will drastically cut down on the potential of the virus to mutate and produce a more hazardous / infectious variant than what we have seen. High numbers of infected people with high viral loads are a much more productive breeding ground for new variants and new waves of the virus. I don't see why I or anyone else should be exposed to further risk just because of a minority of ... Well this is a public forum or else I would put down what I really think. I can't believe how politicized this whole issue has become and how some seemingly intelligent and well-informed people have been caught up in an anti-science / anti-vax fakery. I can remember back when I started school, vaccination was mandated, for the health of the general population and the individual. No questions asked or expected.
