Well, you could have exported everything to QIC format and then re-imported it to the newer version. A bit late, now... :-\

:-) What I meant is that the latest version apparently does not support other currency than $$ and is only available in English.

Was the same. Check out KMyMoney[^]. Very similar and will easily port MS Money database.

I second that. I also moved to it from MS Money.

I have been using MS Money for personal accounting for longer than I can remember, and I was quite sad when MS stopped it as a product. What would have been really, really great, is that they would put the legacy code in open source so that old farts like me could go on with the updates. I wonder whether it is worth asking for it.

I use it to this day, and had started off my current DB with Money 95. I don't let it go online and fetch anything automatically. What needs updating?

Well, I use it with US Dollars and Israeli Shekels. I have to manually set the conversion rates, but everything appears to work OK for me.

Me too. I have the 2000 version and it's probably one of the best products Microsoft ever produced. I am glad there have not been any updates as they would probably have replaced all the good bits with garbage.

I'm still using MS Money Sunset edition. I'm more than a little concerned about the removal of IE in Windows 11 because MS Money uses the IE display code.

There are a few bugs in mortgage calculations, the trick for using it under win10 and bypassing some old IE functionalities sometimes cause the software to crash or to act weirdly. So updating only for better compatibility with latest operationg system versions.

VMs FTW. I only have MS Money installed under a Win7 VM, and haven't had encountered that. I never tried to install it under 10, and until somehow I can no longer run Windows 7 under a VM, that's probably where it'll stay...

My PC is unfortunately not able to run VM ( Hyperthreading or something is missing), so not an option for me unless I buy a new PC :-) But a very good idea indeed.

Not only have they stopped supporting it, the MS Money Sunset Edition appears to have been removed from their servers. It's a good thing that I'm a packrat - I salted away a copy of the installation program many moons ago...

That's something that can be activated in the bios. I had the same problem with my new pc and now I am happily using my VM as always.

Nelek has the right idea, it's probably just a BIOS setting that tends to be turned off by default. It's not Hyper-threading, but v-[something]. Or it can go by many other names. But definitely not hyper-threading (although if you see the option in there and it's disabled, turn it on)

MS DOS and some ancient Word version are already opensourced, so... Although I'm pretty sure it's not some "Feel free to fork it"-license.

You can import transactions. It allows QIF, GnuCash, OFX and CSV formats. And something called "AqBanking importer" and "Account template" which I've never used and don't know what they are. I'm pretty sure that I converted the MS Money database, but I don't remember how I did this (it was years ago).
