Since on the one hand I have a hard time enjoying Netflix or Disney plus (apart from the occasional once in 6 month show) and since, on the other hand, I watch a lot of Youtube and many of my favorite independent media youtubers keep complaining about the algorithm and advertise Curiosity Stream + Nebula package instead. I finally made the jump. My first surprise. This is $15... a year! Neat! Should have done it earlier! :D

He works at EA, where it can take a whole day to change 3 lines of code[^]. So plenty of time for goofing off!

:-D :-D Nah, I tried work, it's not for me, too tiring! ;P In fact, it could be I found the coolest job in Australia, prestigious multi national, well paid, work from home and... 6 weeks holiday! :D I learnt that "our" turn over rate is about 9% (per year?) which is a good rate for the industry, apparently...

No, I think you mean a whole year for three lines of code... One exception applies: the sad transition from 2k to the show.

Mmmm... I have to confess, I also have Disney+ too... I did binge watch a few things... The Mandalorian ain't it.. I tried, and thought I can't exactly remember why I stopped, I suspect the shouting contrast between spaceship that can cross the galaxy in a blink, blaster weapon and people that lives in worse than medieval condition or huge terrifying (energetic) monster living in place without any food hurt my sense of realism too much to continue... And also... Apart from Youtube documentary I found it difficult to enjoy many shows, it's a bummer...

I've only watched YouTube for the past 18 months or so. Rught now, I am binge watching ever show on woodworking I can find. Before that it was TimeTeam with Tony Robinson. Who knows what will be next. The commercials don't bother me, I just fast forward through them. ;P

yeah.. I have the same.. I tried to watch the like of Disney+/Netflix but I rarely hook on something, whereas there is always something interesting on Youtube. But lately the adds have become long and terrible. Like this Gaia shit. And I have to get up from my couch (watching youtube on the couch) a bit too much for my liking! :O ok, ok, that sounded lazy.. perhaps I am...

Glad to help! :) I jumped on Nebula (it's curiosity stream + nebula for 1 modest subscription) I can see some problems already, there are no comment under the videos... :sigh: Also many videos are the same than youtube (no surprise here, I just joined and seek my favorite youtuber). But no ads and I know that 50% of my (modest) subscription will go to whoever I watch. so that is good. (I like that much better than patreon, it's also cheaper  ) However I havent started to explore curiosity stream yet. I think it's a whole new interesting world over there :)
