Flat Earthers Claim Australia Doesn't Exist And People Who Live There Are Actors Paid By NASA[^] I'd think/hope that the flat Earthers are just continuing a not-terribly-funny joke, but it does seem some of them are true believers. (I'm just not sure about that post - whatever that Internet Law is about 'you can't invent a hoax that won't be believed' seems applicable)

My understanding is that flat-earthers (at the original level) simply state that you shouldn't believe what you haven't seen for yourself. I haven't seen Australia, yet I have seen no proof against it either. It appears that most "flat-earthers" today are not adhering to the original precepts of the founders. For example, have they ever seen an "Australian" being paid by NASA? I think not.

70% of the earth is covered in water. Almost 0% of that water is carbonated. Therefore the earth is basically flat!
If you can't laugh at yourself - ask me and I will do it for you.

I know “following logic” isn’t in their game plan (or capabilities)

They've probably seen it on the 'net. Doesn't that count? :-\

It is based on religious creationism. Various attempts have existed for a long time to demonstrate it but only demonstrate a lack of scientific principles. The current iteration is the following. The Curious History of The International Flat Earth Society | Smart News| Smithsonian Magazine[^]

Actors or reptilians? That distinction is important. Seems more realistic if they were reptilians maybe with mind implants which are controlled by the daleks.

Maybe there are honest flatearthers, most likely in the US of A or in England (where the society was first established). The Norwegian chapter is a pronounced parody, very much like the pastafarians ("Church of the flying spaghetti monster"). They deliberately present the most ridiculous view, very much tongue-in-cheek, not at all trying to hide it. Has Wikipedia had a spring clean, throwing out flat earth stuff? I was convinced that last time I looked, the Flat Earth Society had its own Wikipedia page, not just a section in a page whose main purpose is to debunk it. I remember it having a link to Norwegian Wikipedia, where the Norwegian chapter was presented. That may be a couple of years ago. Now, I find only small traces; the Norwegian chapter isn't mentioned at all. For the Norwegian chapter, no debunking was required - it stood out as a perfect debunker themselves. If you were a true flat earth believer, you would feel very uncomfortable in the Norwegian chapter :-) And I am still waiting for the first mountain climbing group to take the name 'Steep Earth Society' :-)

" Modern flat Earth belief originated with the English writer Samuel Rowbotham (1816–1884). " -- Modern flat Earth beliefs - Wikipedia[^] However, I'm not seeing references to some points brought up in... Who Started the Flat Earth Conspiracy Theory, How Many Believe This, and What Do They Believe? - YouTube[^] At any rate, Rowbotham appears to have been rather inconsistent in his statements. Samuel Shenton was more than a hundred years later and seems not to have followed Rowbotham very directly.
