Congrats, that is a wondrous event. The first 21 years are the hardest. :)

Whahaha, that's comforting :-D The other point I've been told, repeatedly, is that kids are expensive. I should start saving to pay for college. Maybe sell a kidney.

My wife asked the pediatrician when she could stop worrying. She put her head sideways and said, "you never will, only your reasons will change".

The smile will disappear when you see the price of cigars. :) Maybe they don't do that anymore, my kids were born in the 60's.

That's a good thing, right? Where were you bleeding from? [redacted, short version] ..you might have caused it. [redacted, lots of cursing] Men, from around the world, never ask for your chances. Eleven weeks, six days. 196 days to go. I have no clue of what to do. She does all. I'm just the panicking idiot at this point. Pray for me.

Congrats. And good luck! Contrary to what others have stated, I think the first few are the absolute best. Enjoy them!

Most people in my social life do not visit this board. Just one. I'm scared shiteless, there's no on/off button or a reset-switch on those critters. Do you want to proceed? "Yes / Abort". FFS.

"The problem with children is that they are not returnable" anonymous. When my daughter's second child (a boy) started to crawl, his older sister said: "we better take him back, he is going to get into all of our stuff".

Prayers sent. If this is a huge worry to you, you should have never poked it. Prepare yourself for the most rewarding years of your life and enjoy the trip. I envy you; I never got the chance.

I should not have had that chance either; my meds say it not allowed and I'm old. I accepted that my bloodline ends. Then this happens. It is a huge worry, it is the best of things. It is more than I can explain. It changes the entire world?

Understood. All of my life, I wanted nothing more than to be loved by a decent woman, and to make a couple of children with her help. It never happened. They all wanted to be "just friends." Life is good, life is usually fun, but it's empty and pointless. I'm not out to end it, as every new day offers new opportunities, but if I don't wake tomorrow, my only regret will be that I forgot to make a will. You are embarking on the greatest adventure of your life. You have the opportunity to build a wonderful human being! There is no more noble task, and I envy you beyond measure! I have had the opportunity to raise the kids of others, and I'm proud of all of them - they have become wonderful adults, parents of great kids, themselves. I'm so proud of them... This is your chance to shine, Eddy. Make the most of it, and know that my prayers will be with you. No, I'm not a religious nut; I don't even go to church. But I do believe that prayers work. God bless you and your bairn...

To be fair, we're programmed to want to give on our genes.

Similar here, mostly. Making a will is expensive, and then there's taxes on inheritence. So, I gave some away while I'm still alive.

The doc prescribed some sedatives. I'd be happy if I don't elephant it up too much.
