I'm a geek, but everytime I repave my laptop I use a different Star Trek ship name...right now I'm on Valiant (a Defiant class vessel, named so after the USS Defiant). The IT guys were baffled one day when the found Defiant in Network Neighborhood. :-D

Did Cain send Abel any viruses? How well did Noah handle IP flooding? Or was Ark the firewall that shielded Noah from having to deal with that?

Luke 2:9 - 12 (Slightly ammended) And a Sales Rep from Microsoft suddenly stood before them, and the glory of Bill shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the rep said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the students; for today in the classroom of Ryan there has been born for you a Savior, which is a Windows Server. "This will be a sign for you: you will find a server encased in aluminum and sitting in a rack." I need to go pray for forgiveness now...:-O

Because I know people that would love to attempt to hack into my system (so far 2 failures and a failed Denial of Service attempt) I use cryptic names. My current server may or may not be named comp-aaycky5r1p or something similar. And the workgroup my server belongs to is a word converted to binary, but I can't remember what the word is. I used to use elements of the periodic table of elements such as the noble gases, especially the deadly ones. However I do use friendly names in my hosts file so that I don't have to remember IPs.

One way I enjoy (since I've only worked with tiny networks) is to use fictional characters - like the 7 dwarves, Chip & Dale, etc. My home server is my favorite, though - Mastercylinder. If I could repackage it in a cylinder shape, I probably would.
