Visual Studio 2022 Collapse/Expand
-
I posted on this a few days ago. When I opened VS, suddenly there were code separator lines and other symbols in the editor, all of which I find useless and distracting. I took me days to figure out how to undo this 'feature'. Now, code collapsing will not work. I can click the + sign next to regions, properties, methods, etc, and they collapse. But the shortcut keys don't work (CTRL+M, CTRL+M). Anyone know where in settings to look for this?
In theory, theory and practice are the same. But in practice, they never are.” If it's not broken, fix it until it is. Everything makes sense in someone's mind.

Try Tools > Options > Environment > Keyboard. Search for Edit.ToggleOutliningExpansion. This is the entry that maps to the collapse/expansion capability.

Kevin - what version of VS2022 are you using? I am spinning up the community edition, but it seems half baked, and I sure as heck don't have time to deal with MS "features."

I also use the Community Edition, and it seems to be mostly OK. The only issues I've had are with the profiler - profiling memory allocations/releases doesn't appear to work properly.

And I'm not seeing the above issues, but I do get occasional input lag with VS2022.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question? The metaphorical solid rear-end expulsions have impacted the metaphorical motorized bladed rotating air movement mechanism. Do questions with multiple question marks annoy you???

So it's already set to Ctrl+M,M - but nothing happens when I try it.

I think it's the project templates / SDK's. UWP development; no issues. Tried a WinUI project; everything is slow to compile. The IDE is "hobbled" compared to UWP / WPF. But also "different".
