You're making all sorts of friends at that place aren't you?

I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated. I’m begging you for the benefit of everyone, don’t be STUPID.

Hi, The overly confident IT department and Software department swapped out the test machine I had in production (ye ropey old machine) with no Network a simple standalone machine for one task. This gets changed to an all singing all dancing touch screen with wireless keyboard and mouse. Software was a bit High mighty about my bit of Windows code it all being done in C# and Visual Studio, not Python and VS Code using all manner of plug ins. My code works drag the file to the location stick the .ini in the same location and it works, the correctly written Python, Ruby & how knows blows up in a demo and wont work. ;P Be cocky and the universe will smite you! That's the problem: it's really, really easy to write crap Python because it's an interpretive language but you have to really work at it to write crap C# ...

But if you swapped to Python, you could write it quicker! And crappier!

It's a case of write something, write anything and then hone in on the task you are trying to achieve, yes it's fast to write but for my money it won't compile to an Exe or if it does it seem to need a dos window open... Also some of the code I have written scripts for anything but installation were verboten (there seems to be a trend for Latin & German for the moment) :-D

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

But, that would be un-professional! (just like thinking it's SI driver package you need, not the FTDI version and not saying anything, just less obvious!)
