I did fire up calculator to find the square root of 144 + 256 because i was feeling lazy but when i saw 400 i was able to finish in my head it!

or maybe the demographics of code project are different from 'normal' society. I would think that a lot of highly intelligent people hang out here. Also people scoring lower may feel too intimidated to post their score, despite EI being a far better pointer to success, happiness etc etc

You must understand that the makers of the IQ test are sucking up to you, so that you will be more tempted to buy their "smart people services". I'm smart enough to not buy their crap. you're right. This test is crap! Here's a real test (well-known). Supposedly, Albert Einstein wrote this riddle, and said 98% of the world could not solve it. "There are 5 houses in 5 different colors. In each house lives a man with a different nationality. The 5 owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same beverage."
