My mother and I have been looking for a bridge in Assam at a place which sounds like "Dumuckdear" that a relation was engineer on - I don't suppose you could help with the spelling?

Sounds interesting. The period you mention is pre-independance. Must be tough. But might not be totally impossible. Some one in your family worked for the English East India company?
