It amazes me that linux junkies expect MS to port all there software to other platforms and give them source code, and they keys to the MS cash vaults. I mean for f:omg::wtf::wtf:s sake if you want something open source do it your self. No offense to you, but I'm just tired of people thinking that MS owes everyone the source code to there lively hood. We wouldn't expect GM to give the blueprints and a prototype of a new engine to Ford or Dailmer Chrysler, why the hell should MS have to give everything away. Matt Newman

I think these guys need to work on their marketing and presentation. There is nothing about the site that grabbed me and said this is a worthwhile cause and technology. Even if you ignore the bad 'Citizen Smith' opening, the example screenshots on the front page don't sell the possibilities. Um, it has more to do with the old government run monopoly and the high cost and waste of creating a new infrastructure to support new systems. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.
Well, most utilities and phone companies aren't government run. (Although some are.) Usually they are regulated, though, and even when de-regulated, they tend to have to open up their lines to competitors. You could make similar arguments about OSes and infrastructure components. My point is not that Microsoft should or should not have to open up its code... but that it is a legitimate argument. If your nose runs and your feet smell, then you're built upside down.
