Rooting for sports teams
-
I've found that while I may root for a specific team, I won't really get into it unless there's some person on the team I care about. Of course this means that if they move to another team, my loyalties change. On the other hand, I know people who root for a specific team regardless and get quite passionate about it. It does get weird when a player they previously hated joins their team (like Karl Malone and the Lakers.) Joe Woodbury When all else fails, there's always delusion. - Conan O'Brien

The ONLY team to root for is Stirling Albion if(E_NOINTERFACE == pThat->QueryInterface(IID_IUnknown,(void**)&pUnk)) { // I aint no pUnk bitch! }

I root for teams, players come and go but teams stay around. I guess because the team represents a region that you grew up in or live in. Like patriotism. Also I have never been into hero worship or role models very much. I was born and bred in Natal here in South Africa. Aged 16 though we moved to the Western Province. But I still, aged 23, support Natal. I just find the Natalian guys and the teams attitude are more in tune with me than the way Western Province play. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Miszou wrote: I have read the entire internet. on how boring his day was. I used to be fond of the Cincinnati Reds (American baseball, for you international folks). Once the free agent thing kicked in, however, it seemed rather pointless. There aren't sports teams with an identity anymore. There are just corporate logos with high-priced mercenary contractors, who have the morals of cockroaches.
