Hehe. I noticed that also (since I use MSDN daily) and I was wondering the same thing - what's the catch? Sounds really nice, though. Are they trial versions or something? Erick Sgarbi wrote: i am not a VB.NET proggie Same here, but like you, I'm still very interested. ;)

I started immediately after I made my post, and I've downloaded 150MB of the 192MB. So maybe I'll be done sooner. ;)

OK, after the 3rd download attempt, I finally managed it! :) I still haven't been able to find out what the restrictions are. Those charts sure look impressive, though. :omg: :-D Lots of good samples, lots of video and flash tutorials, etc. (Too bad the code is only in VB.NET, though!) Anyway, I'll explore it further during the next few days.

Sure is no shortage of those! ;) Anyway, it's a worthwhile download, to be sure. :) My avg download speed was 145KB/sec, but I had to download 3 times before it finally worked (first, low HD space caused it to abort, then it got corrupted somehow, and then on the third attempt, it finally worked).

Erick, There isn't any catch, we produced a special build of our Dundas Chart for .NET - Windows Forms Professional Editon for the CD and we encourage you to use it as much as you can! We want to support Microsoft and make VB.NET a big success, so we thought that showing off some of our goods would be a big win for everyone involved. We are quite proud of our charts, and are excited about the chance of getting it into the hands of hundreds of thousands of developers. Let me know if you have any questions about it. Cheers! Hi Ed, Thanks for the clarification. I actually already have both licenses of Dundas Chart (Windows forms and ASP.NET) however; I am very pleases to see Dundas spreading around. Furthermore, I would love to see it became a standard .NET control. I was really excited last night and downloaded it as soon as it came up. First off, it is the full version with the license and all. It is their Q3 03 version. They released 4 packages a year. What you receive with the Resource Kit is only a single quarter whereas with the subscription, you get updates throughout the year. With the Resource Kit version, you have to buy a subscription at $599 to get all of the new versions including bug fixes. They are already into the fixes in Q4. This is good and bad. You can use them in projects and distribute them all that you want. The bad news is that if you get into a project using these controls and come up on a show-stopping bug, you have to buy the subscription. I really want to use some of their Winforms controls in an app that I'm writing but I'm not sure how stable all of their components are. I'd be interested to hear from anybody that knows the stability and the frequency of serve bugs in the C1 suite. Jonathan

on the MSDN page for the VB.NET resource kit (http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx[^]) there are 4 options at the top, one of which is "If you already have the Visual Basic .NET Resource Kit CD, sign up to receive your ComponentOne Studio Enterprise license key e-mail. (United States, outside the United States).", this goes to http://www.vbrkit.net/[^] for people in the USA or http://www.vbrkit.net/?=ww[^] outside the USA, after completing this form you are emailed a license key which you then have to register on the C1 website.
