A third rate actor , who was a drug taking body builder is elected to high political office. How do you think this affects how the rest of the world views the USA ? Do you care ? Is it any different to Italy electing porn stars ? Space reserved for wit , humour and correct spelling.

It doesn't matter what it really is or what Americans know it as. You asked for foreign perception and you got it :) I have to agree with Corinna though, seems like a bit of a strange place :-D. I think Arnie being governor is quite cool though  I hope he does well.

Don't know, but it just urks me when people are prejudice like that. I may as well say someone can't be a good governor because he is black or a woman. But since society doesn't jump down the throat of most prejudices, they aren't taboo and therefore ok to believe/say. :( Jeremy Falcon

Anyone else consider the fact that another famous govenor of California - who subsequently went on to become "The most powerful man in the World" - was none other than Ronald Reagan..... My guess is because Congress legislates laws, and the president authorizes them. I don't think our founding fathers wanted foreign influence to create the laws that determine our Federal policies.

Sorry abt it, but I meant to support your point :) Here in India, there are people who do not even possess a degree, ruling our states. Religion, political strength etc stand over abilty to rule and willingness to serve. Its a rotten system here and democracy here means elections areheld regularly. So Arnold in my opinion is by no means a bad candidate :) Smitha You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however. -- Richard Bach
