The term "he is not with us is against us" was used by General Mola of the Spanish Army in his instructions for the uprising that would lead to the Spanish Civil War. So maybe GW isn't as illiterate as some suspect? Another thing that surprised me although I hadn't given it much thought was the triggering point ( I say triggering point as terms like cause or starting don't come close to reflecting the real reasons ), the triggering point for the whole war was in fact the right wing army staging a coup against a left wing government and that originally the actions by the anarchists and the communists where in defence of the government. It surprised me because if I had of given it much thought I would have put money on it being the other way around. pseudonym67 Neural Dot Net Articles 1-11 Start Here Fuzzy Dot Net Articles 1-4 Start Here PathFinder Game Of Life 2 Life Wars

a) The sentence is probably much older b) There's a difference of using it in a war, or on a political floor. c) Everything has been said already. Only much better. Seneca, I think, said that before, only much better - in beautiful latin

No, but in combat, the "Friend or Foe" question is complicated enough not to be obstructed by "with issue one he's friend, but with issue 2 he's neutral and issue 3 he's foe". Politics *is* the playground where FOF is unnaceptable - that's the mere idea of politics. (and don't come me with "politics is the continuation of war..." Just because cynism is cool, it's not cool enough)

Let's put that satement in context: Luke 11 14-23 14 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. 15 But some of them said, "By Beelzebub, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons." 16 Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven. 17 Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: "Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. 18 If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebub. 19 Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. 20 But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come to you. 21 "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. 22 But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up the spoils. 23 "He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.

How does the context improve or explain what he said? Just curious, seems unaltered to me :) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Miszou wrote: I have read the entire internet. on how boring his day was. Crikey! ain't life grand?
