That's a hard question to answer. I've received emails that I would swear are spam, yet contained product info that impressed me enough that I investigated it further. But in those cases, it may be that I did, in fact, give permission to send me emails by signing up at some vendor site for more information. The opt-out checkboxes aren't always clearly visible, and they are usually not checked by default. Even so, I can't recall ever making a purchase from such an ad. Blatant spam - from companies I've never heard of in industries that don't interest me - I never respond to, except to reply once in a great while with an obscene message and death threats. My purchases are limited to those items I deliberately search out and research myself. "Your village called -

I generally don't even open email if I don't recognize the sender or subject. There is just too much junk in my inbox now days. It seems that spammers will eventually kill off themselves by overwhelming people….we hope.:sigh:

It amazes me when I get those legit type products as spam. No, I'd never purchase from Spam. Some of the opt-ins that I have signed up for in the past are now just sent to the spam box. and i can't bother even opting out. Regardz Colin J Davies

Would you buy something from a man who jumped you in the street and shoved his product in your face while indecently exposing himself and shouting at you? I wouldn't either.

Exactly the attitude which we need to promote! I once considered McAfee a viable anti virus solution. But ever since they started to spam me, I've decided that I will not buy anything from them. Heck, if someone throws a pirated McAfee CD my way, I will take it to the shooting range and turn it into silvery, plastic dust. -- Das ist die Grenze! So weit, nicht weiter!
