Traffic rocked! How can you knock it? It was a masterpiece I thought. The whole style was just awesome. At least Wing Commander the movie was more entertaining than the game. No idea what my friends saw in that deathly boring series of games. The wing command series was good, until Chris Roberts started wanting to be a film director.. The Kilrathi were a bit crap too, because they looked like the honey monster[^]. Ryan

But Privateer was not part of the WC series, it was a really awesome space game with you as a, wait for it, privateer and not part of an army or anything like WC. They release a sequel some time back, the darkening or something. The worst film I have every watched was Trainspotting. By far, the most miserable 10 years of my life were spent watching that film.

Can't wait for Vol 2. Saw "The Pledge" on Sky the other night too (starring Jack Nicholson, directed by Sean Penn) and thought it was excellent. Very under-rated movie. No happy ending though, so hence ignored by the vast majority of the cinema-going public.

People complain how life sucks and then they're fine with a happy ending? Yeah, that's realistic. Isn't it funny how the fantasy films like most sci-fi are unrealistic but have realistic endings? I.e., we don't win when faced with an armadda of highly advanced alien warships and a seemingly endless supply of highly evolved and much bigger alien warriors. On the big screen, we always win - be it a brave suicide mission up the corn-hole of a saucer or a glass of water.

What does it mean if I enjoyed quite a few of their top ten worst films? A.I had beautiful moments though it was a let down overall. Pearl Harbour was cool for the battles, nice entertainment and anyone who was expecting a historical docu should have their heads checked. Vanilla Sky was just freaky man, but it had Diaz in it, how could I not like it? :blush: The Avengers was just fun. But yes, Battle Field Earth and Highlander were just utterly horrendous. OK, I worded that badly - but Armageddon and Pearl Harbour are pretty much the same story in my book. They are both pretty awful and only the CGI makes them bearable. As for asteroid movies, I enjoyed Deep Impact more - a lot less gung-ho and a bit more realistic. One thing that annoys me is the amount of cheesy moments in Armageddon - all that standing in front of huge, slowly flapping US flags, etc. Puke-a-hontas. Still nothing can match the speech given by the Pres in Independence Day ("today ... is our INDEPENDENCE DAY!") - that would make even the sappiest cinema-goer reach for a popcorn barrel to hurl into. First Matrix. Awesome. Right up my street (like Vanilla Sky in that respect) and I must have watched the hotel lobby -> crashing helicopter bit a 100 times. he he. Total Recall - haven't seen that in a while but it's one of those movies where I remember where and when I saw it (Sheffield, 1990) because I came out of the cinema with my head spinning. ha ha.

Yeh, I was disappointed to see Vanilla Sky in tje list too, as I think it's a great moview. Perhaps there was an anti Tom Cruise vote!?

The movie began, and i had fond hopes of seeing Tom in agonizing pain, perhaps even dying a horrible death... but it just wasn't enough. :sigh: Maybe in the sequel, there'll be sharks waiting for him after he drives off the bridge... :hopeful:

I never passed judgement on which was wrong and which was right. Neither are either, merely personal preference. p.s. It was a good ending - it left things unresolved, it left questions, but it told a story.
