I just read in our local paper about police fining people for public kissing in Moscow.:wtf: Just how bad can it be? Are they making out on the floor or what? Suppressing them could lead to sterile, cold people who show no affection, teaching their kids to be the same. I try to think but nothing happens.

Egads! Thats quite harsh... Was it just one cast[edit] case [/edit]* or is it a new law? :~ * Almost got through Monday without making one stuff up :) So close...

 I just re-read the article. Authorities are reportedly considering levying fines for public displays of affection. As part of an effor to "improve morals" in the Russian capital, its government is working on an order that would prohibit kissing in subways and other public places. ... Fines would range from $13 to $22CDN. I try to think but nothing happens.

I heard that on the radio this morning. I'm not sure how showing affection is immoral. Even if the occassionl couple gets passionate about it and start fondling each other for a minute, so what?

I think public kissing is a crime here [I am not sure abt the legal implications]. But I remember what I read once in the newspaper abt how a lover couple were arrested by the police for public kissing. Hear, hear Anna! I have been told off by my own sister for showing affection for my girlfriends in public. So what if we were up against that wall snogging like there was no tomorrow. You love each other for gods sake, nobody is going to tell me I cannot embrace her passionately and kiss for 5 minutes. Lot worse things happening on our streets than that that people don't mind. So uncomfortable with our sexuality it is frightening! Get over it! Hold hands, kiss, hug, caress, get on your knee and sing, stop being so repressed! regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Anna-Jayne Metcalfe wrote: "Cynicism has it's place in life - but it should be kept well away from your inner self." I think public kissing is a crime here [I am not sure abt the legal implications]. But I remember what I read once in the newspaper abt how a lover couple were arrested by the police for public kissing. It's not a crime here, AFAIK, though IANAL, of course. Plus I've seen people doing it, even in public places. The news incident you are talking about probably had more to it than was published in the paper. Most of the time they water it down (DOH! but you know how it is here). So most probably the couple were doing something more than just kissing. :suss: Regards, Rohit Sinha Browsy

I just read in our local paper about police fining people for public kissing in Moscow.:wtf: Just how bad can it be? Are they making out on the floor or what? Suppressing them could lead to sterile, cold people who show no affection, teaching their kids to be the same. I try to think but nothing happens.

But if they allow kissing, what next... Dancing?!
